The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosted a conference on U.S. efforts to eradicate polio around the world. This portion included keynote remarks by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). He talked about being treated for polio when he was 2 years old and the importance of continued funding for the disease. Afterward, a panel of global health experts from the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention discussed the successes and challenges of eradicating polio. close
