Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Roy Blunt (R-MO), and John Barrasso (R-WY) spoke about the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. Senator Merkley was critical of the Trump administration’s decision not to release documents related to Mr. Kavanaugh’s time at the White House during the George W. Bush administration. Senator Merkley filed a motion to compel the White House to release those documents. Senators Blunt and Barrasso came to the floor and criticized Senate Democrats' handling of the Christine Blasey Ford allegations. close
