During a news conference, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) discussed the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic amid increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state. Governor Ducey said the increase in cases is directly linked to an increase in testing, and he assured Arizonans that hospitals around the state would have capacity to meet the needs of patients. The governor addressed recent criticism related to the spike in cases saying, “there’s been a lot of misinformation out there.” Governor Ducey also encouraged people to wear masks when unable to practice social distancing. While addressing criticism that he has not been seen wearing a mask in public, the governor said, “I’m all for face masks.” close
