The House Banking committee heard testimony from banking officials and foreign trade analysts on the effect of the North American Free Trade Agreement on the U.S. financial services industry. The agreement would reduce tariffs between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Issues brought up in the hearing included enforcement of money-laundering laws and U.S. banks' investment in the Mexican banking industry. close
