The Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee held a hearing on the Veterans Affairs Department’s response to the needs of veterans during the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Richard Stone, Veterans Health Administration executive in charge, talked about the VA’s plan to distribute the coronavirus vaccine and addressed issues with treating patients in rural hospitals. Also discussed in the hearing were how the VA had addressed issues related to the GI Bill, veteran debt relief and providing tele-health care and survivor benefits during the coronavirus pandemic. Senators resumed this hearing after a brief recess. close
