After Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked to bring up the extension of the Federal Aviation Administration programs bill, Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) objected. The Colorado Democrat said he had placed a hold on the FAA bill to keep the Senate in session in order reach an agreement on Ukraine aid and immigration. Authorization for FAA programs was to expire on December 31, 2023, and the extension would fund FAA programs until March 8, 2024. close
