A vote on the measure the previous week failed (214-216) because Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) was absent due to illness. For a second time, Representatives Ken Buck (CO), Mike Gallagher (WI), and Tom McClintock (CA) were the only Republicans who voted “no,” along with all Democrats. Four representatives did not vote this time: Brian Mast (R-FL), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Judy Chu (D-CA), and Lois Frankel (D-FL). Before the impeachment votes, members also debated and approved on bill under suspension of the rules.
