Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) in floor remarks said he supports aiding Israel in its fight against Hamas but that he could not support the current bill because it does not address issues at the U.S. southern border. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Mike Lee (R-UT) also spoke in opposition to the bill for its lack of border security provisions. Their remarks were followed by Senators Mitt Romney (R-UT), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Patty Murray (D-WA), who argued in support of the measure. close
