Following their weekly caucus lunch meeting, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other Senate Democratic leaders spoke to reporters about the upcoming government funding deadline. Senator Schumer said the legislation was still being written and asked congressional colleagues to be flexible as the appropriations process concluded for fiscal year 2024. Senator Patty Murray (WA) and Deb Stabenow (MI) affirmed the spending bills, saying they were bipartisan and protect Senator Leader Schumer also spoke about President Biden’s announcement regarding a multi-billion dollar grant for chip production, and he defended his recent Senate speech calling for new elections in Israel. close
