This session began with One Minute Speeches on issues such as the bill on Nuclear Waste, a naming of a border station, personal responsibility and failing schools, the IRS auditing of former Clinton aide Paula Jones, the Beck Law, campaign finance reform and education in Minnesota among others. A resolution concerning 82 U.S. political prisoners held at Buchenwald concentration camp during world War II was agreed to as well as a tribute to actor and Army Air Force veteran Jimmy Stewart. This was followed by bills on Federal Computer System Security, earthquake research and emergency response, a ceremony for the Eastern Orthodox Christian leader, federal housing programs, military construction spending and foreign operations spending. close
