The Maryland home of the late Chief Justice Taney was toured. Chief Justice Taney was chosen for his post in 1836 by President Andrew Jackson and served for 28 years, the second longest tenure of any Chief Justice. Bertha Kennedy discussed Chief Justice Taney’s life and described his home and different features of the home were shown. He wrote the infamous Dred Scott decision in the case Scott v.
