Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland are flummoxed as clearly more than one-third of the delegates object to changes to the official party platform. It became an issue of discussion when it was noted that unlike previous platforms, there was no acknowledgement of the existence of God nor support of recognizing the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which is claimed by both Israelis and Palestinians. Two self-identified "Arab-American Democrats" are clearly disgusted. close
