The Rhode Island Democrat makes his 93rd speech on the subject of climate change and global warming and what Congress and corporate America can do to combat the problem and reduce the country's carbon footprint. Senator Whitehouse highlights the efforts made by Walmart and Coca-Cola to date. However he says both companies need to talk about climate change when they lobby Congress, saying, "It would make a difference." He also asks if either Walmart or Coca-Cola have ever talked to their senators from Arkansas and Georgia, respectively. And he encourages them to put their politics where their policies are by making climate change an issue when they come to Congress, to "group up" and not worry about retribution if they lobby Congress on the subject. "The fossil fuel industry and its allies in Congress can't punish everyone," he said. close
