In an address to the nation, and surrounded by his national security leadership team, President Trump says "Iran appears to be standing down" after Tuesday night's ballistic missile attack on U.S. forces in Iraq. He says there were no casualties and that damage to the military bases was minimal. The president also pledges that Iran will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons as long as he is president. Later in the speech, he announces additional economic sanctions and says he will ask NATO to become more engaged in the Middle East. close
