CENTCOM Comander General Kenneth McKenzie expresses his concerns about the ability of Afghan forces to respond to any actions the Taliban might take and hold territory, and the ability of the Afghan Air Force to fly after the U.S. leaves in September. He also says that the levers for protecting gains made over the years for women and children will be reduced but that the U.S. will still be able to apply economic and diplomatic pressure on any future Afghan government that includes or is led by the Taliban. close
