There is a lot of pressure on all athletes to succeed, but there is also pressure from outside forces that some athletes might not be able to combat. One is gender. Squash player Marc Bistricer shares that women are still fighting for their place in the sporting world, and even more so now than ever before. The other is race. Racism has always been an issue in sports, but now it can have a much larger impact on athletes who may find themselves struggling with their performance due to external factors such as these.

Marc Bistricer claims that it's no secret that some women are treated differently in sports. Some sports might be more strictly male-dominated than others, but this doesn't mean that women are excluded from any sport at all.
