National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander spoke briefly to reporters after giving a classified briefing to the House Intelligence Committee about the NSA program of collecting metadata on telephone calls and electronic communications. Committee Chair Mike Rogers (R-MI) and Ranking Member Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) also spoke to the reporters and remained to answer questions after General Alexander left. They stressed that there were misperceptions about the intrusiveness of the program and they were working to get certain documents declassified in order to increase the transparency of the program. close
