Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on reactions by fans and listeners of Michael Savage’s radio talk show complaining about C-SPAN coverage of a recent Talkers magazine award. Mr. Savage had received a freedom of speech award from the magazine and several portions of e-mails from various listeners were read to indicate their response to C-SPAN’s programming decision not to cover the acceptance of the award, which had been produced on a DVD and played at the ceremony. Several callers also spoke about immigration issues.

In a later segment telephone calls were taken about President Eisenhower’s farewell speech predicting the rise of a military-industrial complex. A video clip of the speech was shown. close
