Elizabeth Brackett talked about her book Pay to Play: How Rod Blagojevich Turned Political Corruption Into a National Sideshow (Ivan R. Dee, Publisher; April 20, 2009). The book, focusing on the impeachment of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich on charges such as attempting to sell Barack Obama’s soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat, traces the background of corruption in Illinois politics and its implications for state government executive branches across the country. She talked with Eric Zorn about the character of former Governor Blagojevich and his personal and political history. She then responded to questions from members of the audience.
