Representative Martha McSally (R-AZ), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, talked about issues facing Congress, including the House debate over a disapproval resolution on the Iran nuclear agreement. She also spoke briefly about her career as an Air Force fighter pilot, and the role of women in the military.

At the conclusion of the program an interview was shown with Roll Call editor and columnist Rebecca Gale in which she talked about the 1978 murder in Guyana of former Representative Leo Ryan (D-CA) in the Jonestown Massacre. Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA), who was an aide to Representative Ryan at the time, was shot five times. The clip was part of several “Washington Journal” interviews with Roll Call writer and editors in honor of the Capitol Hill publication’s 60th anniversary. close
