The National Governors Association held its annual summer meeting in Salt Lake City. In the morning session of day two, the director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Jody Singer, spoke about NASA’s mission and plans, including the goal of going back to the moon. Then, Governors Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) and Jared Polis (D-CO) led a discussion safer roadways. Speakers included Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)'s Helen Witty, Brian Barnard from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and Dr. Grant Baldwin from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). close
