What GSK did was to encourage the use of Paxil for children who are dealing with depression with false messages about its safety and effectiveness, including ghostwriting a journal article that misreported the results of a study. GSK promoted Paxil for kids, despite the fact that three studies that it had conducted failed to demonstrate that Paxil actually worked to treat depression in children. And Paxil has never been approved by the FDA for any purpose to treat children or adolescents under the age of 18. close
