Following meetings of eight separate panels at an economic forum sponsored by the White House, participants talked about their panel discussions on various aspects of the state of the economy. After their remarks President Bush spoke about a number of economic issues including job creation, economic development, federal spending restraints, and the potential impact of efforts to combat terrorism on the economy. He also pledged not to sign a supplemental spending bill due to excessive spending in areas unrelated to homeland security and national security. close
