Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen testified before the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee on the central bank’s semi-annual Monetary Policy Report to Congress. Chair Yellen told committee members the Fed is likely to keep interest rates low “for some time” in the face of uneven economic growth. She also commented on the possible effects of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, adding that the Federal Reserve would be monitoring the outcome for potential consequences.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the presumptive 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, talked about her economic policies and plans. She also sharply criticized Donald Trump’s business practices and economic policies. In her remarks to supporters, Secretary Clinton said the presumptive Republican presidential candidate had “written a lot of books about business -- they all seem to end at Chapter 11.”

This campaign event was held at the Construction Arts and Auto Technology building of the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center.
