Mark Levin delivered remarks at the the annual Conservative Political Action Conference held by the American Conservative Union. He talked about Ronald Reagan, the former president’s impact on the conservative movement, and the opportunity for Republicans in the 2016 elections. Mr. Levin was introduced by a video.

CPAC 2016 was held March 2-5, 2016, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Groups including the Tea Party Patriots held a “Stop the Iran Deal Rally” on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol to voice their opposition to the Iran nuclear agreement. Republican presidential candidates Senator Ted Cruz and Donald Trump were the featured speakers. Other congressional members also rallied the crowd against the deal.

Members of Congress, activists, and tea party leaders gathered to mark the fifth anniversary of the start of the movement. Speakers included Representative Michele Bachmann (R-MN), radio talk show host Mark Levin and activist Catherine Engelbrecht.

Author and talk show host Mark Levin talked about his writing process.

Mark Levin, president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, contributing editor for National Review Online, host of a nationally-syndicated talk radio program, and former Reagan administration official, talked about his life and career. Topics included the role of the federal government, recent Supreme Court decisions, and the upcoming 2014 elections. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.

Mr. Levin is the author of five non-fiction books: Rescuing Sprite, Men in Black: How the Supreme Court is Destroying America, Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America, and The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic.

Nationally syndicated talk radio host Mark Levin presented his thoughts on the current state of politics in America, specifically the idea of utopianism. The author contends that such a state is untenable and hurts society and the individual. Mark Levin was interviewed by John Heubusch and then responded to questions from members of the audience at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

House Republicans joined thousands of “tea party” protesters in a gathering on the West Front of the Capitol days before the House was expected to vote on the bill. Speakers criticized House Democratic health reform proposals, saying they were an irresponsible and costly government takeover of health care. The audience, holding signs and waving banners, often responded with shouts of “kill this bill.”

The Media Research Center held its annual gala at the Grand Hyatt Washington to roast media they feel show liberal bias with “DisHonor Awards,” mock “acceptance” speeches, and video compilations. The 2009 DisHonors Awards were: The Media’s Messiah Award, The Obamagasm Award, Half-Baked Alaska Award for Pummeling Palin, Dan Rather Memorial Award for the Stupidest Analysis, and 2009 Quote of the Year Award. In a serious vein, the third annual “William F. Buckley Jr. Award for Media Excellence” was presented to Brit Hume.

Mark Levin talked about his life and career, as well his role as a public advocate for conservative points of view. Mr. Levin hosts a nationally syndicated political call-in talk show called “The Mark Levin Show.” Various audio clips were played including callers from March 28, October 6, and September 25, 2008; a satirical song; and comments he made about Bill O’Reilly and David Letterman. He also talked about his book Rescuing Sprite: A Dog Lover’s Story of Joy and Anguish, published by Pocket Books in 2007. Mr. Levin is also the author of Men In Black: How the Supreme Court Is Destroying America, published by Regnery in 2005, and president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, a legal advocacy group. Mr. Levin held various positions in the Reagan administration, including chief of staff to Attorney General Ed Meese.

In it Mr. Levin examined the American judicial system and argued that the Supreme Court ignores the Constitution, and endorses terrorist’s rights and importing foreign law. Following his remarks he answered questions from members of the audience.
