Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the secretaries for labor, housing and education talked about the challenges former incarcerated people face when re-entering society. General Lynch, Thomas Perez, Julian Castro and John King outlined the steps their respective government agencies were taking to help individuals have a second chance at success. The Center for American Progress hosted the event at their headquarters in Washington, D.C.

In the fourth of a series of policy releases, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ways and Means Committee Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX), and members of the tax-writing committee unveiled their party’s proposal to reform the tax code. Representative Brady said the new tax proposal works for all taxpayers and includes cuts and simplification.
