Oral Histories: Navajo Code Talkers - Samuel Tso
In the last of six interviews with Navajo Code Talkers featured on American History TV, we hear from Samuel Tso who speaks about growing up in poverty, an anonymous gift he received while serving overseas, and the impact of returning to World War II battlefields with his children 60 years later. The interviews were conducted between 2004 and 2006 at Mr. Tso's home on the Navajo Nation tribal lands in Arizona and on the Pacific Islands where he served. Navajo Code Talkers were U.S. Marines who used their native language to secretly communicate operational plans. Filmmaker and historian George Colburn interviewed the men for a documentary on their service.

Lectures in History: American Military in the Revolutionary War
This week's classroom lecture comes from Baylor University professor Julie Anne Sweet who teaches a class on the American military during the Revolutionary War, including a look at the equipment and capabilities of both the Continental Army and militia troops. She also compares the advantages and disadvantages of the American and British forces.

Remembering the Apollo 11 Mission
This July is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Michael Collins - the mission's command module pilot - recently talked with journalist Marvin Kalb about his experiences in space, the mission's historical significance, and space travel today. The National Press Club hosted the discussion as part of "The Kalb Report" series.

The Presidency: Abraham Lincoln's Sense of Humor
The Abraham Lincoln Institute and Ford's Theatre Society host an annual symposium at historic Ford's Theatre to highlight the latest in Lincoln scholarship. This year, author Richard Carwardine was among the speakers. He talks here about Lincoln's sense of humor.
