House Session - January 4, 2021

The House approved the rules for the 117th Congress. Among the items in the package was curbing the minority party’s use of the motion to recommit, a procedural tactic to change legislation before a final vote. The new rules also remove gender-specific pronouns, exempt certain bills from deficit controls, revoke floor privileges for former lawmakers convicted of certain crimes, and ban members from knowingly sharing “deepfake” images.
