The House approved a bill to prohibit the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) from using federal funds to regulate gas stoves as banned hazardous products. Members also passed a resolution that would repeal the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' (ATF) pistol brace ban, and they approved two suspension bills that were debated the previous day. Lawmakers failed to override President Biden's veto of a Senate- and House-passed repeal of the District of Columbia's policing reform law that would ban police chokeholds and improve access to body-worn camera recordings. Members also debated two other measures, one to prohibit the Department of Energy from implementing a ban on gas stoves, and the other would change the rulemaking process for federal agencies.
