The House considered several resolutions under suspension of the rules, including several in response to the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. One reaffirms Israel's right to exist, and another calls on Hamas to immediately release all hostages taken. On the measure concerning Israel's right to exist, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) voted "no," and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) voted "present." Representative-elect Celeste Maloy (R-UT) was sworn in to replace Representative Chris Stewart (R), who resigned in September. Representatives Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY) both separately introduced resolutiona to expel Representative George Santos (R-NY) from the House.
