The House Is Not In Session - Next Session Friday, May 31 At 9:30 AM
House Session - May 8, 2024

The House voted to table Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) motion to vacate the chair, thus defeating her effort to remove Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) as speaker. The vote was 359-43 with seven voting "present." Members also passed four bills. One would extend Federal Aviation Administration programs until May 17, 2024; the second would repeal a Security and Exchange Commission crypto assets rule; the third would allow mining waste storage on public lands; and the fourth would require the U.S. Census to include a question of citizenship for all respondents, beginning in 2030. Finally, members approved two suspension bills that were debated earlier in the week.
