Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) ended his nearly 10-month hold on hundreds of military nominations, in objection to the Pentagon's policy to allow service members and their dependents to travel to states where abortion is legal. The nominations were confirmed en bloc via unanimous consent. Members also confirmed Loren AliKhan to be a U.S District Court judge for the District of Columbia, and voted to limit debate on the nomination of Elizabeth Richard to be State Department coordinator for counterterrorism. On the vote to invoke cloture on Ms. AliKhan's nomination, Vice President Kamala Harris broke the 50-50 tie with her 32nd vote, more than any other vice president.
