On Wednesday, February 14, 2007, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on judiciary security, judicial independence, and cameras in the courtroom.
This is the first time in modern history a sitting United States Supreme Court Justice testified before a Congressional Committee on legislative matters. Every year usually two Supreme Court justices appear before a House Appropriations Subcommittee for the federal judiciary’s budget. close
