George Washington University and the Derek Sheely Foundation hosted a day-long conference on reducing injury risks among student athletes. This portion of the event featured remarks by National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brian Hainline and sports cardiologist Dr. Michael Emery. In addition, Ken and Kristen Sheely talked about their son Derek, who died from a traumatic brain injury sustained during college football practice in 2011. close
