Representative Lee Hamilton, D-Indiana, International Relations Committee-Ranking Member, spoke about changing relations between the United States and Iran. He said that the lack of dialogue between the two nations has benefitted neither and that Iran is experiencing important domestic changes. He said that these two conditions should spur the U.S. to a policy of engagement with Iran as a better way to serve U.S. national interests in the Persian Gulf region. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
