The guidelines require restaurants and retail food establishments to provide calorie and nutrition information to consumers. Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) introduced legislation in April 2015 to exempt most establishments from compliance with the rules that go were to take effect on December 1, 2015.
