The senators answered reporters' questions about the impeachment trial. Senator Harkin talked about the objection he made about the senators not being called jurors since they are judges or triers. Senator Torricelli stated that since Justice Rehnquist allowed the senators to define their role as triers showed the House managers that the senators do not just make their decision on the facts alone. The senators talked about calling witnesses and whether or not to ask the president to testify. close
