The Senate continued the impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton with presentations by House managers and the president’s defense team on whether to call witnesses. Representative James Rogan, R-CA, argued that the president’s aide Sidney Blumenthal should testify. The president’s attorney, David Kendall, then argued that if the Senate called witnesses the trial would be drawn out because the defense would need to go through a detailed evidence discovery process. Managers then delivered their rebuttal. close
