Senator John Chafee R-Rhode Island talked about acquitting the president on both charges. He said that he had reservations about removing the president from office. He mentioned that the House managers did a very good job. He blamed President Clinton for the trial not the House managers. He stated that the trial is not about the popularity of the president or how good a job he has done. He talked about the details of the case against the president and whether he should be removed from office. He said that he will vote to acquit on both articles of impeachment. He took questions from reporters. close
