President Clinton spoke to the students and families of Columbine High School, saying that the tragedy at the high school had “pierced the soul of America.” He urged the audience, which had cheered for him and the first lady, to participate in America’s healing through outreach to their peers in schools across the nation. He also said the tragic incident should be used as a tool for change, telling the students to speak about their experiences in order to effect changes in attitudes towards America’s youth. close
