Mr. Brookhiser discussed his book Alexander Hamilton, American, available in paperback from Touchstone, a division of Simon and Schuster, which profiles the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton. During his talk, Mr. Brookhiser chronicles Hamilton’s birth into poverty and illegitimacy in the Caribbean to his role as one of the most influential politicians of his era, including his signing of the Constitution and his appointment by George Washington to be the first Secretary of the Treasury, to his death in a duel with Aaron Burr. After his presentation he answered questions from members of the audience. close
