Scholars and guests examined the final stages of the Civil War and beginning of the Reconstruction era through the writings of President Abraham Lincoln. They paid particular attention to the Gettysburg Address and other writings of Lincoln.

The program was telecast from the Gettysburg National Cemetery where Lincoln delivered the address in 1863 and included several items of interest from the site as well as a portrayal of Lincoln. close
