Michael Moore, author of Dude, Where’s My Country? from Warner Books, was interviewed and responded to telephone calls from viewers. He then signed books for bystanders.

George Crile was interviewed about his book Charlie Wilson’s War: The Extraordinary Story of the Largest Covert Operation in History, from Atlantic Monthly Press. Charlie Wilson was an East Texas Congressman-who saw an opportunity to deter communism in Afghanistan by funding the CIA backing of the Afghan Mujahideen against the Soviet Union’s 1979 invasion of Afghanistan. The book makes direct connections from these activities to present day difficulties in Afghanistan and the larger Islamic world, as well as the fall of the Soviet empire. Mr. Crile also responded to telephone calls from viewers. close
