On August 13th, 14th, and 15th, administration officials traveled to cities in the Midwest to promote President George W. Bush’s Medicare plan. They visited hospitals and healthcare centers in Columbus, Ohio, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Kansas City, Missouri. They toured facilities, gave speeches, held press conferences, gave interviews, and spoke with citizens. C-SPAN spoke with those officials on board their airplane during the travel and to those some of those who attended the events. The administration officials received word of the widespread power outage from Eastern Canada and down the East Coast during their stop in Kansas City, MO. close
