Ms. Rimel talked about the importance of civic engagement. In particular, she said that she and audience members who have been blessed with tremendous resources and opportunities are responsible for giving back to the community, country and shared civic life. She noted that favorability ratings for the U.S. have fallen in many countries since 2000, especially the Palestinian Authority and Jordan. Most Americans are unaware of these feelings toward the U.S. since international news coverage is very limited. She dwelt on U.S. responsibility as the only superpower.
