Mr. Wolfensohn talked about the role of the World Bank in trying to put together a plan for the reconstruction of Iraq, including that country’s administration, education, employment, and other needs. He also talked about the results of the October Madrid, Spain, meeting of possible donors for Iraq reconstruction. He then went on to talk about the 60-year history of the World Bank and its current goals of decreasing poverty and increasing education and life expectancy in developing countries. After his speech he answered audience members' questions. close
