Mr. Hill talked about the Transportation Department’s new pilot program, announced the previous week, involving Mexican trucks and their access into the U.S. Under this program, truck safety inspectors working for the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will be able to travel to Mexico to conduct extensive safety audits on companies interested in hauling cargo into and out of the United States. Mr. Hill also responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
