Jonathan Kozol talked about his book, Letters to a Young Teacher, published by Crown. In his book educator Kozol describes his lifetime of experience in teaching children to Francesca, a first-grade teacher at an inner-city school in Boston. He expressed his concerns about high-stakes testing, corporate ownership of schools, and de facto segregation in today’s urban schools.

Jonathan Kozol has been working with students in inner-city schools for more than forty years. His other books include The Shame of the Nation: The Restoration of Apartheid Schooling in America, published by Crown. close
