AFL-CIO President John Sweeney talked about the state of America for working people this Labor Day. Topics included the need for fair trade, good jobs, and freedom for collective bargaining. He focused on launching a drive for universal health care. Other speakers were Jean Tome, a worker from Columbus, Ohio; Mary Florio, a nurse from Norwalk, Connecticut; and Heather Booth, head of the health care campaign. They all responded to questions. close
