In his first news conference of 2008, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon talked about his priorities for the coming year. Topics included U.N. peacekeeping challenges, social justice, economic well-being, efforts to end world poverty, and the crisis in Kenya. He said that 2008 marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. After his remarks, he responded to reporters' questions. close
